Act 1, Scene 2 Summary

Characters: King Duncan, Malcolm, Donalbain, Lenox, bleeding Captain.

Location: A camp near Forres.

Events: A wounded soldier explains how the valiant Macbeth killed Macdonwald and fought off an attack from the Norwegians and is later revealed to of defeated them. King Duncan (Macbeth’s cousin) is impressed with Macbeth’s noblety. Duncan sentences Cawdor to death and gives Cawdor’s title to Macbeth.

Quote: “What he hath lost, noble Macbeth hath won.”
